Valentine’s Day: The day for lovers, often hated by those who prefer not to display affection in public or live life without a partner. Either way, Valentine’s Day is a day rejoicing love, whether it be with a partner, friend, or family. Chocolates fill people’s stomachs, and roses fill vases; pink and red hearts decorate cards saying, “I love you.” Many restaurants have taken initiative to celebrate love and generate business on Cupid’s holiday.
For snacks and meals, there are various options. According to Cosmopolitan Magazine on Snapchat, by downloading the My Pretzel Perks mobile app, Auntie Anne’s is offering a buy-one, get-one free heart-shaped pretzels for the original and cinnamon sugar. At California Pizza Kitchen, get an appetizer, two entrees, and dessert for just $35. At Hooters, shred, burn, or bury a picture of an ex (only digitally) and receive a coupon for free wings. At Qdoba Mexican Eats, anyone who purchases an entrée and proceeds to kiss a stranger, friend, or significant other at the register can get a second entrée free.
For dessert, head to Steak N Shake, Baskin Robbins, or Dairy Queen. According to steaknshake.com, the menu features three Valentine’s Day milkshakes. This includes the Oreo Red Velvet, Red Velvet, and Chocolate Covered Strawberry. According to ajc.com, on the Baskin-Robbins website, use the promo code LOVEU at checkout to save $3 on a cake purchase of $15 or more. According to Cosmopolitan Magazine on Snapchat, Dairy Queen is selling a Red Velvet Spoon Case, and the proceeds go to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Whether single or taken on Valentine’s Day, grab a friend, loved one, or family member to celebrate all types of love-agape (self-sacrificing), philia (friendly), storge (natural, familial), or Eros (intimate). Also Valentine’s Day candy goes on sale the next day, so to all of the single ladies: treat yourself, just a day later for less money.
