Assumption, the school of women empowerment has created a handful of successful entrepreneurs, but how? I spoke to the founder of Peplum Boutique and Assumption Alumna, Lauren Henson and discussed how her dream became a reality.
Growing up around entrepreneurs there was no doubt she would follow in her parent’s footsteps; however, it was her time at Assumption that helped her realize her potential. Assumption is all about uplifting students and preparing them for life which was fundamental towards Ms. Henson’s success. The idea that she can do anything if she puts her mind to it and her self-worth was instilled within her freshman year, which continued to grow with her years here. The opportunities for retreats and getting to know herself better gave her the courage she needed to start her own business.
Owning a business is more than just being your own boss, it is about creating a community. Henson has been affected by the sense of community that is stressed by Assumption. Going to a school who values community has made a dramatic impact on how Henson runs her business. Their goal is to make the same women empowerment that Assumption left on her.
Many normal routines installed at Assumption has stuck with Henson for years, as well. She explains how the skills she learned when planning and staying organized for Assumption classes plays a role in her business today.
Assumption sets their students up for success. With their community, with their teachers, with their goals. With the support by her friends, family, and teachers here at Assumption she was able to envision and create a successful lifestyle. All Assumption has to offer is to help their students understand their potential and follow their dreams.
