With the start of a new school year, Assumption welcomed eighteen new faculty and staff members. The most prominent of roles belongs to Kamaria Wesley, who has taken over as an Assistant Principal and as the Dean of Students. However, that is not the only new role that has been filled this school year.
Here is a list of all new members who joined the Assumption community or stepped into a new role this school year.
Andrew Stairs has returned to Assumption after working at Saint Xavier to take over as Director of the Rose Theatre Company and theater faculty member.
Kristin Walsh has left her previous role as an Assumption guidance counselor to take over as Director of Engagement and Leadership.
Sarah Branham graduated from Assumption in 2007 and has returned to work in the Finance department. She is the new Executive Director of Finance.
Alexa Glass graduated from Assumption in 2018 and has returned to join the Marketing and Admissions team as the new Digital Marketing Coordinator.
Josh Gray has joined the Learning Differences program as a Learning Differences Specialist with an emphasis in Math and Science.
Lynnzi Hoehler graduated from Assumption in 2014 and has joined the Guidance and Counseling Department as a Guidance Counselor. She is currently working with the class of 2025.
Rob Owen has joined the Assumption community’s Facilities department as the Director of Safety and Security. Bill Schott has joined as the Assistant Director for Facilities. Dale Rueff has also joined the Facilities as a staff member.
Janet Peter and John Wieland have both joined Assumption as faculty members and study proctor.
Many new teachers have joined the Assumption community to help shape the minds of current and future rockets. Erin Chandler has joined the mathematics department as a faculty member. Melissa Fette has joined the English and Journalism department. Michelle Ising has joined the World Languages department as a Spanish teacher. Hannah Marks graduated from Assumption in 2014 and has returned as a Theology teacher. John Wolfe has joined the Business and Mathematics department as a faculty member.
Michelle Ising is a previous substitute teacher returning as a full-time Spanish teacher at Assumption. When talking about her love for the Assumption community Ising says she felt like, “Assumption is my home.”
Jackie Miranda graduated from Assumption in 1997 and has now returned to work as a school nurse. She has three kids at Assumption: a junior and two freshmen. She previously worked as a school nurse for JCPS and wanted to be back at Assumption where she graduated and where her kids are now. She is very excited to meet all of the students and make friends with the staff.
As we get further into the school year, these new faculty members will get the chance to learn what the Assumption community means for them.
