Although many have concerns of AI becoming a threat to education, it poses positive innovative helpful tools for students. AI is a very diverse tool with seemingly endless possibilities.
According to The Messenger News, a Florida high school district is taking a chance on AI. The school district invested millions in an AI tutor system. Their goal is for it to help students in the classroom and help teachers plan lessons. The school district’s superintendent expresses that this AI will help them through the problem instead of giving them the answer. This new use of AI could help many students.
Although Assumption doesn’t use AI for student resources, the websites that students use often at Assumption use AI software. For example, Quizlet Plus users have access to AI to help them study better. Quizlet can create a study program specified for the individual student. Also, with access to Canva pro, there is access to AI. AI makes it easier than ever on Canva to create an infographic or poster.
AI is getting more accessible every day, but the integrity of it still being debated. Schools are very hesitant in what their stances are. However, AI can benefit learning for high school students moving into the future.
