The topic that was highlighted on Thursday was immigration. The campus
ministry team was gathering signatures for a letter about refugees during all
lunches. This letter was later sent to Senator Mitch McConnell, Senator
Rand Paul, and Representative Morgan McGarvey. After school, the
community of Assumption had the amazing opportunity to show support
for immigrants and refugees by standing at the corner of Bardstown Road
and Tyler Lane a sign of solidarity.
Friday: September 26
Friday’s spotlight was on women. We had the opportunity to participate in a
dress down day for the minimum donation of $3. All the money to support
our school in Cambodia. A quick history lesson was built by Assumption
alums because they wanted to provide educational opportunity to young
girls there. The campus ministry team held a short Mass during both RTI
sessions.
What a busy and amazing week the community of Assumption had! I can’t
wait for what Mercy week will look like next year!
