The Rocket softball team just wrapped up their District Tournament finishing in second place. Male High School took first defeating the Rockets 7-4.

In their first round of regionals, the Rockets defeated Manual 11-5. The regional semifinals will be on May 28, 2014, where the Rockets will play the Sacred Heart Valkyries at Louisville’s Ulmer Stadium.

The team has six seniors and four juniors who are trying to lead their team to take the State Championship. Jenna Kapfhammer is the official team manager for the team and also plays a big role making sure the team always has what it needs to be successful.

“Our biggest strength would be our effort on the field and our encouragement towards each other. Our biggest weakness is probably staying focused and getting the job done, but that’s improved as the season has gone on,” Madison Sweeney, junior, said.

When the Rockets take on the Valkyries on May 28, they will have to be aware of their weaknesses and use their strengths to their advantage. Come support the Rocket Softball Team as they make their way to the State Finals!
