Relay for Life

By: Hannah Moore

Relay for Life is an event to raise money for cancer and will be held at the Assumption Green tomorrow. The Luminaria part of the relay is where we honor those who have or have had cancer. We will line the track with glowing paper bags and each one has either “in memory of…” or “in honor of…” written on it for a loved one.

They will be selling Luminaria bags to anyone who wants to buy one in lunches today. You can donate $5-$20 and get a bag.  All of the money goes to the American Cancer Society.

If you didn’t pay online when registering make sure you bring $10.

If attending the event this is what you will need to bring:

·      Tennis-shoes

·      Change of clothes if you would like

·      Sweatshirt or jacket (in case of rain)

·      Tent or pop up tent- like what you would use for tailgating and lawn chairs for your team’s area

·      Bug spray

·      Cash for food

“Cancer never sleeps, so for one night neither will we.”
