After seniors said goodbye to their teachers and classes at Assumption, they celebrated together at the Gillespie for their prom, The Secret Garden, on May 9.
The tables were decorated with black tablecloths and a vase full of flowers and sticks surrounded by lights. The atmosphere was a “secret garden” feel, with sticks on pillars to make it feel like there were trees.
As the last classes and exams of seniors dwindled down, students cut it loose on the dance floor, letting out all frustrations. It was a successful event and many seniors enjoyed dancing with their dates and closest friends.
The senior class voted Karen Udoh as prom queen, and her court was Hannah Mattingly, Hollie Collins, Anna Currey, Sarah Sangalli, Tori Shaper, Fran Deeley, Lillie Nitzken, Caitie Thompson, and Allie Wellinghurst.
Students frequently requested “Wiggle” by Jason Derulo, “Let it go” from Frozen and “Latch” by Disclosure.
